Self Storage Insurance

Why do I need insurance to store my items?

The safety and security of your belongings whilst in our storage facilities is of utmost importance to us.  However, in the unlikely event, such as a fire or flood, that your items are damaged while storing with us, we require all customers to hold adequate insurance for their entire stay.

As an alternative, we can accept an enhanced liability for loss or damage to your goods which may occur during storage.

StoreProtect is an agreement by us to accept an enhanced liability over and above our Restricted Liability under our Licence Agreement for loss or damage to Your Goods as described in the StoreProtect Addendum for an additional charge. If you opt for StoreProtect, You have the option, but not the obligation, to insure Your Goods. If you do not opt for StoreProtect, You must provide evidence to Us that Your Goods are adequately insured for all of the Normal Perils listed in Licence Condition 19.2.2.

Why doesn’t my self storage quote include StoreProtect?

The cost of StoreProtect can vary depending on the replacement value* of the items and the length of stay. Therefore, providing StoreProtect as an add-on rather than including it in the quoted price is more practical. This will differ from customer to customer and allows customers to tailor their StoreProtect to their specific needs.
It's important to note that while StoreProtect may be an additional expense, it can provide valuable protection for your belongings in case of theft, damage, or other unexpected events.

Please read our StoreProtect Addendum for more details of StoreProtect.
